Dynamics of change at Rouen Business School

  • Rouen Business School is already commited to a dynamic process of change which is essential for the future of the School.

This year, Rouen Business School is celebrating its 140th anniversary ! France’s second oldest ‘Ecole de Commerce’, founded in 1871, has become a fully-fledged modern Business School which today has 3 650 students, both French and from abroad, in its various programmes – Bachelors, Masters, PhD and Executive.

  • In January 2008 it became legally autonomous, with the status of a ‘1901 Association’ (non-profit). In its governing body, together with the Rouen Chamber of Commerce and Industry, there are now representatives of local authorities and universities, and two members of the Alumni Association.
  • In June 2009, the school chose its new name, Rouen Business School, and a new visual identity to emphasize its international ambition and underline its vision :

‘Explore new worlds, go forward as responsible leaders’

  • In 2009, the newly refurbished, 25 000 m² campus, with its nine buildings in a 7 hectare wooded site, was inaugurated
  • In the 2009-2010 period, Rouen Business School recruited 14 teaching and research staff and now has an academic team of 80 professors.

Rouen Business School aims to go further and be ranked among Europe’s top 25 business schools.

This strategic project requires an increase in our resources, against a background of ever growing competition.

It is for these reasons that Rouen Business School is launching its first 4-year fundraising campaign (2010-2013) under the name ‘Explore new worlds’, appealing to alumni, the business community and the general public.
