A closer look at the ongoing research reveals both strong theoretical and disciplinary backgrounds as well as cross fertilization among researchers. This leads some of our researchers to innovate by using methods and theories that they became aware of through discussion with other colleagues.
The vast diversity of geographical areas demonstrates a strong interest for globalization. Globalization is not seen as an obstacle, it does mean however that distances are greater and more importance must be given to this aspect. Hence, researchers are interested in not only the local context in Normandy but also areas such as China, North Africa, South America or India, as well as Europe and North America.

In order to ensure consistency between these research approaches, it is essential for researchers to have a common viewpoint and common ambitions. The theoretical frameworks and hypotheses that are used are un-traditional. The common ambition of the ongoing research work developed at the school is to explore questions that have not yet been addressed in a satisfactory manner by existing research, or to extend our research to areas that have not been explored yet.

All the researchers at the Rouen Business School have an interest for emerging or evolving approaches and for issues that challenge the future of organizations. This means that they provide their students with cutting edge knowledge and expertise.

The second characteristic of this common view is humanism. This ties in well with the traditional lines of research carried out by the school for many years on issues related to ethics, diversity, well being, sustainable development and corporate performance.

Finally, research at the Rouen Business School has a strong international flair as its international research partnerships increase as do the number of publications in highly regarded academic journals. Rouen Business School has become a European institution which views its development as international. Research spearheads this development.
