New ways of learning : the student as a truly active learner
The Master Grande Ecole has built a new curriculum based on work-linked training, which combines high academic standards with practical experience. Innovative learning methodologies have been implemented. They require the complete involvement of the student in the knowledge acquisition process, so that he/she becomes really the co-producer of his/her knowledge.
Among these innovative learning methods, we may mention :
- the students use online resources (Crossknowledge, Cyberlibris) and an e-learningplatfrom (Moodle) ;
- participation in large-scale cross-disciplinary projects : the "Projet Entreprendre" which runs through the whole first year of studies, and the final business simulation which calls upon all the knowledge acquired from the programme;
- students are involved in 5 role-play situations, covering a wide variety of domains ;
- finally, a consideration of the learning linked to the experience of working in associations and carrying out projects, whatever they may be (intercultural or humanitarian projects, taking part in competitions for students organised by companies or institutions).
Proactive teaching methods
At various moments during his/her studies, each student is faced with the need to make choices :
- choice of partner university
- choice of work placement
- choice of which courses to follow
- choice of a pecialisation
Through these choices, the student contructs his/her own personal learning path, to prepare for his/her entry into the jobs market.

Since the start of the 80s, Rouen Business School has been a pioneer in work on the problems of personal development.
It remains creative in this field, offering students a system of assistance in the formulation of a career plan, and in its implementation in a fruitful environment.

Through the supervision and the tools we make available to them, they are able to take control of their educational programme and make the choices which will lead them to a successful introduction into the job market.."

They are helped at all levels:
- To construct a professional launching pad: drawing up a CV (in English and in French), writing accompanying letters, preparing for job interviews
- To check their personal development : they take a test followed by a debriefing with a psychologist
- To get the best out of the ESC Rouen’s main advantage: a workshop on the effective use of the School’s network and the student’s own network.
- To make a final check at the end of the studies: the ‘career plan’ seminar over 2 days for students who, even at the end of their studies, are still not sure what they want to do...
Thanks to the various tools the school makes available (tests, interviews with a psychologist, personalised advice, workshops, etc.), students can take control of their study plan and make the choices which will lead them to a successful entry into the job market.
- From the 1st year on, each student is supervised by his/her tutor (member of teaching staff or other permanent staff member). Four workshops and personalised advice are available to develop and complete his/her internship project.
- In the 2nd year, the School offers the students means to deepen his/her self-knowledge via a test followed by a debriefing interview with a psychologist, more workshops and personalised advice.
- In the 3rd year, there are several possibilities :
- Individual advice to fine-tune the entry into the job market
- Simulation of a job interview in English to optimise recruitment prospects
- A 2-day seminar (for those who still have not decided)
This process allows each student to build his/her plan by organising the right internships, which are an integral part of the entire training programme.
