Head of the International MBA
Associate Professor, Management of Information Systems
"Taking part in the International MBA is in itself a learning
experience. Because learning is needs-based, we put the emphasis on a
hands-on, pragmatic and inter-disciplinary approach to learning. The
Entrepreneurial Business Project encourages participants to identify
for themselves what is essential to know, persuades them to co-operate
with colleagues and apply what they learn to real life managerial
situations. Faculty explore with the group the learning and development
objectives and relate these to the material already covered on the
program. You learn how to appreciate other points of view and to see
cultural differences as a source of strength and inspiration."
"The choice of the program's slogan - "learning to become more
effective global managers" - was deliberate. The relatively limited
number of participants along with the wide variety in the cultural
backgrounds of both the faculty and participants provides an excellent
opportunity for participants to develop essential cross-cultural
skills. Working in cross-cultural teams is challenging, stressful,
often frustrating but ultimately enriching. This is a key area where
quality-focused European programs like Rouen's can distinguish
themselves from North American ones. There are some distinctly European
values to management - including a respect for the specifi cs of local
markets, the ability to operate in several languages, the necessity of
developing one's general culture, and the capacity to be tolerant of
differences. It is our sincere belief that this program helps
experienced managers learn to become more effective and pro-active in
increasingly complex and diverse global markets.
The International MBA is open to university graduates with a minimum of 3 years experience.
