With its 13 permanent professors and 11 affiliated professors, the Department of « Economics and Finance » of Rouen Business School is characterized by its quality of teaching, its academic level, and its strong internationalization.

The main mission of the Department of « Economics and Finance » is to ensure the quality and the consistency of teaching in matters of economics and finance for all the programs of the School, from the Bachelor to the Master Grande Ecole (MGE) and the programs Post-Graduate (PPG). The Department encourages all kinds of initiatives in pedagogical innovation (ex. active learning, e-learning) and organizes professional interventions by practitioners from financial institutions and companies. It seeks permanently to develop new programs to meet the needs of students and companies. Currently, the Department is in charge of four specialization programs entitled « majeures » in MGE, namely “Corporate finance” (in French), “Financial markets” (one in French and one in English), and “International finance and management” (in French), one Mastère Spécialisé « Finance internationale » (in French) and one Master of Science in Finance (in English) in PPG.

The academic level of the Department is supported by its strong capacity to produce high-level academic articles. The research topics cover fields as wide as corporate finance, financial engineering, international finance, mathematical finance, microstructure, and monetary economics. The research works are published in high-level peer-reviewed journals such as Applied Economics, Economic Theory, Finance, Journal of Economics Dynamics and Control, Mathematical Finance, Review of Finance, and Review of International Economics.

The internationalization of the Department is supported by seven citizenships of its permanent team and by its active exchange with foreign universities. The Department regularly receives international visiting professors (ex. University of Sydney in Australia, Lakehead University in Canada), and encourages its professors to go abroad for stays either for teaching (ex. Wuhan University in China, ISCAE Casablanca in Morocco, ESA in Lebanon, Universidad Uniandes in Colombia), or for research (Pompeu Fabra University in Spain).
