The Department of Finance and Economics deals with teaching in the fields of Economics, Corporate Finance and Market Finance throughout the School. Through their publications in journals and their papers at top ranking conferences, the staff of this department have established the international reputation of the Rouen School of Management in the field of finance. The department is currently setting up an educational cooperation project with highly reputed European institutions within the framework of the European Erasmus Mundus programme.
The research interests of the department’s faculty cover the following domains : derivatives and management of market risk, assessment and management of credit risk, diversification and performance. A research programme covering these aspects has been defined in the context of the Finance centre of expertise.
Course work is built around internationally recognised reference works and on the latest developments in research in the field of finance. Numerous professionals from the finance and banking sector contribute their practical experience. The Société Générale is particularly associated with a specialisation in the banking sector.
To lend reality to its teaching, the department has a Trading room. The department also contributes to innovation in teaching methods within the School, particularly in the area of e-learning.
The department proposes four specialisations within the Grande Ecole programme (Financial and Banking Management, Finance and International Management, Financial Markets, Corporate Finance) and is responsible for coursework in one of the Specialised Masters : International Financial Management.
